Lost iOS device (iPhone/ iPad/ iPod touch)

Here's how you can find your lost iPhone (or any other iOS device):

First of all in order for the steps mentioned below to work your iOS device you should:
  1. Have iOS 5 or later (If your i-device was purchased after Oct 2011 your phone already satisfies this criteria)
  2. Be connected to the internet with locations services turned on (Mobile data/ Wi-Fi)
  3. Signed-in to your AppleID with 'find my iPhone' being turned on (By default it is on, unless if you changed it).

If you lost an iPhone (or even an iPad/ iPod touch), you can simply login to www.iCloud.com and login with your Apple ID and the password.Click on 'Find my iPhone'. This will give you the options to not only locate your phone using GPS, but also to remotely lock the phone with a message that would appear on the screen. If you had some confidential data on the phone, then you can remotely lock and wipe all the data on it as well. If you have another Apple device using the same Apple ID as the one on your lost device , then you can also download the 'Find my iPhone' app to track your lost device.

Note: If you do not remember you Apple ID/ password, visit iforgot.apple.com (Hint: Your Apple ID is the email address that you registered with Apple while creating your iTunes store account)
